Actually, I was a little underwhelmed by Antelope Canyon, which might better be named Instagram Canyon. Impressive photos with the right light settings, to be sure, but kind of a cattle-car experience. Horseshoe Bend was far more impressive.
But it was the tour guide, Tim Munson, who made this trip so great. We never felt rushed, and yet things flowed like clockwork, from the trading post to Horseshoe Bend to lunch to Antelope Canyon to the dam. Tim had a wealth of local anecdotes, folklore and history, but here, too, his pace was perfect: we had plenty of time and plenty of quiet to enjoy the scenery, and yet we came away with a lot more than if we had tried these sites on our own.
The venues were probably a 4, but the guide was a 6 or higher, so I've settled on five points.
