Small Group Boat, Kayak and Walking Guided Eco Tour in Everglades National Park

Overview
This very popular eco-adventure and combines the best of a boat tour, a kayak tour and a walking tour in a single great learning experience. Depending on the season, you can encounter manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, roseate spoonbills and/or numerous species of fish and shore birds. A very comfortable transport boat will bring you deep into Everglades National Park with your Florida Master Naturalist guide. Once at the first destination, the tour slows down using very stable, comfortable kayaks to get you close to the flora and fauna. Imagine paddling next to a manatee or a dolphin! (No previous kayaking experience is required and there are single and two-person kayaks on every tour). Continue your interpretive experience with a walking tour on remote, pristine barrier island beach … a beach that is seldom visited by others.

It was very gratifying to see how nature is recovering after the Irma huracan. Dan knew where to go and it was impressive to see the Dolphins playing with us. Highly recommended

Dave, Heather and Don were knowledgeable, thoughtful and safe captains who kept us laughing as well. We learned so much and had a blast. Loved the boat assisted tour to really get out to the islands, paddle around and walk on the island. Phenomenal and educational in a very fun way. On our ride back the dolphins got super excited and we had 20-30 of them around the boats, following us, jumping and even belly flopping for us. Incredible! Could not have asked for a better afternoon. Would never have gone to Chokoloskee island otherwise and were really glad we did.

Our guide, Jerry, was an experienced pro with a good sense of humor and deep knowledge of the area, the boat we were using, how to get in and out of the kayaks without tipping over and - best of all - the nature around us in the 10,000 islands area of Everglades National Park. After driving to Chokoloksee island to meet up with our tour at the Eco Tour headquarters, and seeing the destruction that Hurricane Irma had left, we were grateful to have a beautiful encounter with this amazing park. All the equipment was clean and well-maintained and our guide was so knowledgable about the local flora and fauna that we were able to catch a large pod of dolphins toward the end of our time. They came alongside the boat and the captain got them to "surf" in our wake. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. We saw many cranes, pelicans, egrets, and herons, were able to stop on a small island to shell and enjoyed a beautiful sunset to cap off the tour. I will be back to try some of the other tours from this company and would gladly refer any of my friends.
