Small-Group Clear Kayak Tour in Shell Key

Overview

We've created a fascinating kayak tour in St Pete, centered on our Crystal Clear kayaks, giving you a fascinating look at the sea life throughout Shell Key preserve, and Fort Desoto park. Our professional guides provide an interesting narration of the local wildlife and ecosystem. The tours can range from 2 persons to 16 people, and are approximately 2 to 2 -1/2 hours long. The tours will primarily operate in the protected waters and mangroves tunnels of the Shell Key Wildlife Preserve in Pinellas County. An 1,800 acre preserve, these waters are well traveled by Dolphins, Manatees, Rays, as well as a variety of shore birds, including pelicans, egrets, herons, cormorants, osprey, and sometimes roseate spoonbills.

Please note: This activity is NOT suitable for the Elderly or the Obese, or people with back surgeries/issues, or with a history of other physical ailments. You must be physically fit for participate in this activity.

We did a 930am kayak tour and had the best time! We ended up spending about 2.5 hrs out on the water! The weather and group of us was perfect size! Saw a dolphins, starfish, pink spoonbill birds and tons of other birds! Our guide, I believe his name was Curt, was amazing. Told us tons of history/facts about the area, animals and kayaking. He answered questions and everything! Definitely will be doing this again when we visit!

They left before the scheduled time so we got left behind. We were not late at all either. Not cool. I called the company and was told by Sebastian that he would make sure I got a refund and he did not. It was a big joke. The company didnt care about us at all.

AJ, you were a no-show for the trip. Funny how you mention not being late at all. When you first called, I didn't realize that the tour group actually waited for you an extra 15 minutes, and you were not reachable on the phone number on your reservation. You were a no-show.

My friend and i did this about a week ago and the whole thing was a huge letdown. The water was so murky and green that you couldnt see anything. All 3 of the other kayaks were scattered everywhere and it wasnt even really a tour. Going through the mangroves was AWFUL. The trees hang low and you get smacked by them as you go by. The reviews we read all promised we would see all different types of wildlife and all we saw our entire 3-4 hour trip were birds and crabs. Not one dolphin, not one turtle, not even any fish. Nothing was organized once we got out in the water and was a huge waste of time and money. Never again.

Mallory I'm very sorry you were disappointed. But we certainly saw this coming given your attitude when you first arrived. It just seemed like nothing was satisfactory to you even before you got into the kayak. Everyone had a wonderful time on that tour, except you. I guess you forgot about the manatee that passed us by. Perhaps kayaking is just not your thing. - Sebastian
