What To Expect

Denver Union Station

We’ll begin our tour at the historic and grand Union Station, where we take in the splendor of “downtown Denver’s living room”. Your guide will give a brief introduction to the beginnings of the Mile High City and it’s early associations with alcohol.

LoDo

We’ll then head out into the heart of lower downtown, also known as LoDo. Your guide will navigate you through the historic, brick-building-lined streets to a few of their favorite local bars. You may start out with a delicious libation at one of Denver’s oldest bars or find yourself in the dark recesses of a subterranean speakeasy spilling over with references to the city’s founding pioneers. As you take in the ambience of each establishment, your guide will let you in on the ingredients and background of each drink. You’ll come to appreciate Denver’s place in the realm of cocktails from all over the world, and we may even get to try a truly local twist on time-honored classics. We’ll dispel the myths and shed some light on controversies surrounding a few of the most popular drinks on the menu.

Larimer Square

Cocktail connoisseur or not, you’ll end your tour with a greater appreciation of Denver’s craft cocktail scene, all the while exploring LoDo’s iconic Larimer Square and surrounding area. Your local guide will have plenty of recommendations for more cocktails, great local beer, and a bite to eat all around Denver.

Patrick, our tour guide, was awesome!! He was very knowledgeable and personable!! Learning some history about the invention of cocktails was really cool! The drinks were good and Patrick provided us with plenty os suggestions for places to go to eat and try different cocktails! Great tour to get to know a little about the city!!

Our tour guide was great. Kristina shared with us a lot of the history of Denver which we truly enjoyed. The location was perfect and I especially enjoyed the three bars that Kristina selected.

I love me a pub crawl slash educational tour, honestly. Tell me I can drink and learn and it’s like a night class at community college. I kid. Anyway. I learned SO MUCH about Denver prohibition, pre and post, and I’ve got trivial Knowledge that I can spew for a lifetime! (If you want to know why it’s called an Old Fashioned, this is the tour for you!) We went to three different bars in Denver and Laura gave us such great information. We had drinks at each bar - you want to name your poison? NAY! You’ll be offered a drink profile and try something interesting every time! At the middle bar we had an amazing snack along with our cocktails and more stories. Unsinkable Molly Brown? Heard of her? She’s got a drink! Mary Pickford. Heard of her? Another drink! My friend and I had a fantastic time AND we had such a great time with our tour mates we actually all had dinner together and finished up closing down one of the bars! Two thumbs up, 5 Stars and the Emmy Goes To LAURA for best Small-Group Cocktail Tour in Denver!
