Small Group Florida Keys Eco Tour by Boat

Overview
Tour the Florida Bay looking for dolphins and manatees while listening to an overview of the Florida Keys ecosystem.

In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that ends up in our oceans, we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We have water coolers in our shop and on our boats for your convenience! We also have a cooler stocked with ice, so feel free to bring any other snacks or drinks.

Spotted manatees, fish, herons. Great eco guide, beautiful canals, overall cool trip. Would definitely book another with this company

This is the worst eco-tour ever. I can't imagine how they even call it one as the ECO portion went completely missing. The most exciting part was signing the waiver. The entire trip consisted of motoring 45 minutes each way to a dock area for a 3-minute, futile search for manatees. The boat is ill-equipped to handle more than 4 people. Being in the back, we were pretty much ignored, excepting for the one time the guide addressed us to ask "what do you do for fun"?

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your recent eco-tour experience did not meet your expectations. At Pirate's Cove Watersports, we strive to provide informative and enjoyable tours that highlight the beauty and importance of our local ecosystems. Our tours typically depart from our location at the Reefhouse Resort & Marina, located at 103800 Overseas Highway in Key Largo. The journey to our manatee viewing area usually takes about 30 minutes, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings. While sightings can vary, our guides are dedicated to locating and observing manatees responsibly, ensuring minimal disturbance to their natural habitat. Regarding the boat's capacity, we aim to accommodate groups of various sizes comfortably. Our crew is trained to ensure that all guests receive attention and information throughout the tour. We apologize if you felt overlooked during your trip; this is certainly not the experience we intend to provide. We value your input and will use it to enhance our tours and guest interactions. If you're open to giving us another chance, we'd love to provide you with a more enjoyable and educational experience. Please feel free to contact us directly at (305) 453-9881 or [email protected] to discuss your concerns further or to plan a future tour.

It was a fun eco tour. We even saw a crocodile! The tour guide was very nice. I wish he’d said more about mangroves and how they help with climate change as there’s been a lot of research in this area. Also, it would be nice to hear more about what we can do at home to help improve the ecosystem.

Happy to read that you had fun on our Eco-Tour! We enjoy sharing our knowledge and pointing out local wildlife. We are in a protected area and are grateful to be able to mix fun & education during our tours. Thank you for suggesting what specifically you want to know more about for this will help our guides going forward. Please call the shop and ask for Kristie and she will be thrilled to answer your questions! Coral bleaching in the Florida Keys is an environmental issue and addressing it requires a multifaceted approach for which we are committed to.
