Small Group Kayak Tour of the Shell Key Preserve

Overview
Join Coastal Kayak Charters for a small group guided kayak tour of the Shell Key Preserve. We are St Pete's top rated kayak tour company and focus exclusively on small groups and private tours. Our trips offer more personalized service and better wildlife viewing opportunities while out on the water. We will explore hidden mangrove tunnels (tides permitting), shallow seagrass meadows, and stop on Shell Island for time to swim, look for shells, or just relax and enjoy the beach. Our tours are designed for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. We use stable user friendly kayaks that provide a great paddling experience. We primarily use double kayaks unless you have an odd number in your group. If you prefer single kayaks they are available through our website. Come explore with local professionals who love what they do and see the difference for yourself.

the staff and guides were very helpful and educated us on the local flora and fauna. We got to see mullet jumping out of the water several feet in the air, and pelicans diving for fish, hitting the water with a big splash. Sadly, the only dolphins we saw were the tops of their fins from a distance. Although I consider myself an experienced kayaker, I was sore and exhausted at the end of the 3 hour tour. Being from PA, I haven't kayaked since Nov. 2021, and my kayaking muscles were out of shape. The younger people didn't seem to be affected (I'm almost 65).

Great experience. We had such a relaxing and fun time. We are a little experienced with kayaking but by no means experts and found the guide to be just right- helpful but chill enough to let everyone figure out how to correct and keep going. And supportive with steering reminders if needed. We didnā€™t have our boys with us on this trip but know that they would have loved it too- so definitely fun for families- and very supportive to anyone who needed help getting the kayak in the water, etc.

Great afternoon out on the water. Great activity to see the islands and get some sun. Easy pace allowed us to travel a decent distance.
