Small-Group Malibu Wine Hike

Overview

The hike is a guided 2.5 mile loop around the property where you will get to walk through the vines, see amazing views, visit our Chumash Native American cave paintings, and explore our organic garden. The hike is considered easy to moderate with about 300 feet of elevation gain and loss. This tour is open for all ages, however due to the terrain we cannot allow strollers or wagons. At the end of the tour guests will receive wine to-go.

My husband and I decided to do malibu wine hikes for our anniversary! It was such an incredible experience. Our guide Kurt did such an amazing job as we walked through the property giving us the history of the property and how it all came about! Kurt was very patient and encouraging as well while we had a senior couple that couldn’t keep up with our group. Kurt was also very nice as he offered to take pictures with our phones or personal camera! I recommend the hike vs the safari ride since you get to walk in and through the property. You get to interact a bit more with the animals especially Stanley the giraffe, and go through the entire property. The hike in total is about an hour and thirty minutes this includes feeding the animals and taking pictures and just enjoying the walk!

My mom bought this for the siblings and their significant others. The area is amazingly beautiful. Our guide Piyar was Awesome. He personally spoke with eveyone on the hike and knew a lot about the property and family. The hike was easy and the animals/ gardens were amazing, but Stanley the Giraffe takes the prize. We went wine tasting after and could have spent the whole day there. Perfect place for a romantic daytrip or when your looking for a fun place to go with friends. I volunteered to coordinate a team building event for my department and this definitely was a hit for many reasons! The hike was leisurely, relaxing and so very scenic (but don’t expect this to be a serious workout, relax a little). The estate is absolutely breathtaking and animal lovers rejoice! There were animals abound and we even got a sneak peak at Stanley the Giraffe! Come on a weekday for less pedestrian traffic and more sneak peaks at the more exotic animals. I suspect this was all doable solely at the expert hands of our expert trail guide Kurt, who was just as hilarious as he was knowledgeable on the estate. Facts and quips are told to us in equa parts by Kurt throughout the hike, and don’t forget the punny names for all the animals, (Kendrick Llama, come on now, it’s funny!)! Kurt also has an eye for photography so don’t forget to make room on that smartphone for lots of fun photos. We finished off with some tasty wine at the tasting room where we ordered delivery. Don’t worry, Malibu Wines is okay with outside food! I love this place! Ask for Kurt, and don’t forget to tip your guide!
