Small-Group Malibu Wine Hike

Overview

The hike is a guided 2.5 mile loop around the property where you will get to walk through the vines, see amazing views, visit our Chumash Native American cave paintings, and explore our organic garden. The hike is considered easy to moderate with about 300 feet of elevation gain and loss. This tour is open for all ages, however due to the terrain we cannot allow strollers or wagons. At the end of the tour guests will receive wine to-go.

My boyfriend and I visited Saddlerock Ranch for a Malibu Wine Hike and had a wonderful time. The hike is pretty leisurely BUT it can get much hotter since it's inland and closer to the sun so dress in comfortable layers and wear plenty of sunscreen! Make sure to bring a water bottle and you'll want a camera for sure! They say the trip takes two hours but I would plan on longer than that! We took about 2 hours just for the hike and then you can stay and enjoy the winery as long as you'd like! Would recommend for couples, girl group outings, other fun small groups who enjoy animals, views and wine!

My wife and I took our Niece and her boyfriend for her birthday. It's a moderate hike/walk through some nooks of the property that you won't see on the Safaris with only a few ups and downs on the trail. got to hear some interesting info about the property and the Semlers (owners). after the hike our guides Margarite and Jun got us on the trolley over to the tasting venue where we had a table reserved for us with plenty of shade. the wine tasting was delicious as always. It was a Sunday so there was some great live music. We love everything about Malibu wines and highly reccomend the wine club as well as the safaris!

Malibu Wine Hikes is a great experience and unlike any other attraction in Los Angeles. Justin was the tour guide of my group and he was both friendly and entertaining. I'd definitely go on this hike again! Tips: Get there on time, hopefully you get Justin as a tour guide since he's so nice, and bring a cheese platter or sandwich for the wine tasting after. You'll be hungry! Outside food is allowed. After the hike you take a shuttle to the wine garden where there will be a food truck if you're lucky and a small assortment of cheese and crackers for purchase.
