This is a must do if you are staying in Malibu or the surrounding areas. It is also something that almost anyone can do. Not many physical demands, a couple of inclines but nothing to strenuous. You tour the winery, located in the stunning hills above Malibu Beach, learning the history of the grounds and different things that have happened there. There are LLamas and Alpacas, cows, a white Donkey, and a Giraffe. Many vistas for incredible pictures, and of course the wine tasting :-). Generous pours of nice wine. They don't sell it at that particular location, so you no pressure to purchase on the spot, which is a plus. We ordered a Charcuterie plate ahead of time and it was wonderful, perfect for our wine stop. Our guide Jessica, was so pleasant and knowledgeable, she really made the tour extra special. I would definitely go back here on my next visit.

There are lots of hiking opportunities throughout the LA and Malibu areas, however, you sometimes hear a story of a car getting broken into or hikers nervous about safety. We decided to bypass all the concerns and pay a bit for 2 - 3 hours of incredible fun and safe hiking. This property is outrageous and so well managed. Besides a great hike, we visited rescue animals like llamas and donkeys and more. You also get a bit of wine tasting too. Our guide Kurt was truly the best! And if you want to graduate to a more intense hike, he will give you the best advice on where to go to enjoy and be safe. We drove through Malibu's incredible mountain ranges to get to the Wine hike. So beautiful. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to California.

On Sunday, March 1, my husband and I did the Malibu Wine Hike. From the moment we arrived the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our guide was Elena and she was fantastic! Elena was engaging and very knowledgeable on all aspects of the ranch. This was a group hike with about a dozen hikers in total. The first few minutes was uphill but after that it leveled out. About 3/4 of the way through the hike we stopped at a picnic area for a tasting of three wines. Iā€™m glad we chose the hike over the safari. We saw several safari tours taking off and they all seemed to be young people partying. Our hike was middle aged adults and more about the hiking and views than about drinking. We still saw all the same animals including Stanley the giraffe.
