Small-Group Public BYOB Sunset Boat Tour on Lake Austin

Overview

Perfect for solo travelers or small groups who don’t want to rent the entire boat themselves, this intimate cruise offers the perks of a private cruise without the associated costs. Our captain serves as a tour guide who may point out landmarks, celebrity homes, or share their own personal stories from the lake. Bring your own drinks—alcoholic beverages welcome—and a camera to capture photos of the lakeside grotto known as Little Venice.

The Lake Austin cruise takes off from the Loop 360 Boat Ramp located below the southern end of Pennybacker Bridge over Lake Austin. This three-acre park is primarily used for lake access, but offers a grassy area for picnicking. A few bald cypress and sycamore trees grow along the water's edge.

Multiple boats are used for this event, we'll do our best to accommodate special seating requests. Please let us know if you have friends booking separately that you'd like to sit with.

Pennybacker Bridge

Mount Bonnell, also known as Covert Park, is a prominent point alongside the Lake Austin portion of the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. It has been a popular tourist destination since the 1850s.

A semi-private grotto we call Little Venice where you get a closeup view of the Lake Austin mansions.

This is a MUST do while in Austin with a group of your friends (ours was a bach party). We had Phil as our driver and he showed us such a good time. The sun was out, the tunes were on point, and the drinks were flowing last Saturday. Honestly, such an unforgettable experience. Would STRONGLY recommend going through Float On!

We went on Float On’s Sunset Tour on Lake Austin for my birthday and I can’t talk them up enough - it was phenomenal! As soon as we got aboard the boat, our captain, Phil, welcomed us and pointed out a cooler with complimentary waters and let us know we were free to store our own drinks there as well. We had a great group - listened to tunes, but still maintained a super relaxed, enjoyable vibe the whole ride. Along the way, our captain pointed out it all - from celebrity houses and estates, local landmarks, attractions, and restaurants (including where to get the best margaritas right there on the water), to local charity efforts and other hidden gems along the way that you totally would have missed without his guidance and expertise. He also stopped to offer pictures for us all with the Pennybacker Bridge as our backdrop at sunset. It was just all these little details combined that made the boat tour such an awesome experience. We were so glad we went, it really was the perfect way to end my birthday!
