What To Expect

Montezuma Castle National Monument

To be true to the area's rich history, the Sedona single day tour gives you a chance to explore ancient Native American civilization. You'll visit the ruins at Montezuma Castle National Monument which are the most easily accessible, best preserved and arguably the most spectacular cliff ruins in North America. You'll see an impressive 20-room, 5-story structure built into the recess of a white limestone cliff about 70 feet (21 meters) above the ground.

We had such a strong head wind that day (11/09/2018) the air conditioner flipped up perpendicular to the roof of the bus with a bang. Our driver / guide (Jon Opem) drove slowly to the nearest exit with a service station, bought everyone breakfast that wanted and changed buses, then continued the trip. He is very knowledgeable of the area, sites and vegetation. My wife left her purse on a wall at one of the sites and realized it was missing when we stopped in Sedona. Jon called the site and within minutes located the purse and retrieved it while we had lunch in Sedona. Our hero!

We took this tour to Sedona on November 9,2018.our driver JON,was awesome.he was so knowledgeable on all areas.his driving was excellent and made us feel safe.conditions were a little windy,but he did a great job from start to finish.the tour took us to many beautiful spots which we have never seen before.it was a busy day and long but time went by quickly as we had so much to see,and Jon,explained the history of things so well.he was so polite and professional and very dedicated.one of the guests had lost an item,and Jon made a call,he toured back,picked it up and gave it to the guest.she was soooo happy,he made her day,and some.such dedication and honesty was truly remarkable.we would strongly recommend a tour with Detours,if your in this area.truly beautiful and amazing to see.thanks Jon for making our day great.
