Small Group Shark and Turtle Dive for Certified Divers

Overview

You enter the water and, after a short surface swim, descend on a condemned pier that has transformed into a vibrant reef. Schools of fish surround the wreckage that has accumulated colorful corals and sponges.

Turtles swim all around in organized chaos as you search for camouflaged frogfish, making it hard to decide where to look. You follow your instructor as they lead you through the obstacle course of the wreck, swimming under and through the old dock where you spot a pregnant reef shark resting under a section of cement and pause to admire her beauty. As you make your way back to your starting point you focus on the multitude of turtles that gracefully soar through the clear water.

So many turtles! And in second dive (black rock) whale sounds the entire time. Loved our guide Joe. He was great—went above and beyond. Great dives and low prices!

I can’t say enough good things about these dives. Abby was so fun and enthusiastic and worked hard to make sure we had the best experience possible. The dives were easy, relaxing and incredible. We had two Hawaiian Monk Seals join us on the first dive which was so cool! The second dive had more turtles than I’ve ever seen in one spot as well as many resting white tip reef sharks, including some babies! I would highly recommend this dive.

Epic dive with Matt! The first dive was a great dive at Mala Harbor -- saw sharks, turtles and more. The second dive was Epic! We went to Black Rock and about 30 minutes into the dive 3 monk seals showed up out of nowhere. It was an amazing experience. We were careful to never approach them, but they did not seem to hesitate to approach us. They followed us for 20 minutes as we worked our way into shore. I've dived and snorkeled black rock many times in the past and I've never had an experience like this. What a way to end my vacation in Maui!
