Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

What To Expect

River Ventures

Embark on your journey with a Coast Guard Certified Master Captain who will be your in water chaperon, educator and photographer. Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Our well-informed staff will direct to other local attractions, restaurants and answer of your questions before you are on your way.

There are no words to express how amazing this manatee experience was! Captain JJ and Guide Courtney were incredible! Their knowledge of the bay and the animals was fantastic! I went with my best friend, she is afraid of water and I am a mermaid and they managed to personalize an amazing experience for us both! The pictures Courtney took were great, and it was so nice to be able to enjoy the experience and know it is being captured at the same time. Will definitely be back!

This was one of our BEST experiences of our lifetime! Captain Troy and Sara exceeded our expectations. Captain Troy made us feel safe and comfortable on the boat. We had complete safety instructions that covered all possible hazards. Sara found lots of Manatees in the bay, even though most of them had already moved out to the Gulf of Mexico. She was extremely knowledgeable about the Manatees, and even me, a Science teacher, learned more. I can't wait to take my grandsons back here for this experience.

We travel a lot and do a lot of fun experiences but this one was definitely one for the photo wall! Check in was smooth, professional and efficient. We boarded a boat with Troy and Sara who were personal, professional and awesome and finding manatees!!! We swam with a group of manatees and were able to interact with a baby for over an hour who loved to come up and get attention! Can’t wait to come back and bring my kids. Thanks for an a+ experience!
