Small-Group Walking Food Tour of the French Quarter with Lunch

Overview
Discover the rich history and traditions behind the most iconic foods of New Orleans on this tasting and cultural tour of the French Quarter!

We’ll explore the oldest public market in the US, the French Market, and hear about its Native American roots and current-day role in NOLA’s culinary scene. Along the way we may sample a beignet, brought to New Orleans in the 18th century by French colonists from "the old mother country" and also by Acadians.

Your local guide will then navigate you through the French Quarter, where you’ll experience the influence of Cajun and Creole cultures on New Orleans favorites like gumbo and sausages. We’ll uncover Louisiana origins and farming traditions, which also link our African American and Caribbean communities.

Among other immigrant-inspired cuisines found here in the Crescent City, we’ll enjoy a signature sandwich, before ending with a sweet treat with ties to the city’s history and locally harvested ingredients. Bon appétit!

Our guide was a very nice lady. We enjoyed her company, but that's where the fun ended. The foods we sampled were basic. I could have provided myself with a more authentic food adventure on my own with zero experience. We had a bowl of Gumbo, a sausage, some bread pudding, a beignet, a praline cookie, and a sandwich that was the equivalent of a Subway sandwich. Not what I was hoping for when paying as much as we did for a NOLA food tour. Other than enjoying our guide on a personal level, it was a total waste of time and money. I recommend skipping this one.

Hello. Wea re sorry to hear of your take on the food tour. Our guides and our tours get consistent High marks for the choices we and they make, to ensure that everyone tries the unique foods of the city. We always suggest reading the descriptions and knowing what you are signing up for in advance. Our Po-Boy sandwiches are one of the most iconic foods of the Crescent City. Good Day.
