Small-Group Walking Food Tour of the French Quarter with Lunch

Overview
Discover the rich history and traditions behind the most iconic foods of New Orleans on this tasting and cultural tour of the French Quarter!

We’ll explore the oldest public market in the US, the French Market, and hear about its Native American roots and current-day role in NOLA’s culinary scene. Along the way we may sample a beignet, brought to New Orleans in the 18th century by French colonists from "the old mother country" and also by Acadians.

Your local guide will then navigate you through the French Quarter, where you’ll experience the influence of Cajun and Creole cultures on New Orleans favorites like gumbo and sausages. We’ll uncover Louisiana origins and farming traditions, which also link our African American and Caribbean communities.

Among other immigrant-inspired cuisines found here in the Crescent City, we’ll enjoy a signature sandwich, before ending with a sweet treat with ties to the city’s history and locally harvested ingredients. Bon appétit!

Thank you Kim for a excellent tour of the NOLA French Quarter. We appreciated your knowledge of all things New Orleans: food, history, music, shopping etc. Our tour was almost three hours, and we enjoyed every minute of it! Wear good walking shoes, and no need to have dinner the night of the tour- all the food was plenty and wonderful

We booked a private walking tour for two. The information where to meet was good and clear. We were met by Kim who greeted us enthusiastically. After a brief chat about our plans we set off and enjoyed 4 different restaurants and sampled 6 different dishes/foods. Kim also gave us an insight into how the French quarter and this made the trip more enjoyable as we learnt so much. The tour lasted 2/3hrs and was a leisurely walk with plenty of time to talk photo’s or ask questions. Thoroughly recommend this.
