Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

We are showing awesome (and COVID-safe) wine tours! Vehicles are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer on bus. Per CDC transportation guidelines, we recommend guests wear masks on board the tour shuttle. Safe, but still really fun.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

My wife and I were in town with some friends and we did a wine tour with this company. We did one day in Napa and one day in Sonoma. We visited 4 wineries each day and our tour guide was Melissa. She was absolutely incredible. Very knowledgeable about the wines and the vineyards. Very comfortable van. Very customer service oriented and just delightful to be with. We highly recommend this tour company but be sure to ask for Melissa.

My husband and I did the small group tour of Napa last weekend, and we had a fantastic time. We loved our guide Sam, he was funny and knowledgeable and really created a great atmosphere. I've been on other tours where I felt like the guide was simply a driver, and Sam was much more than that. We also had a fun group which of course made the day all the better, so we really lucked out. Communication with Platypus was easy - they called us after we booked to arrange our pickup, and all went exactly as planned. We visited 4 wineries of varying sizes and had unique experiences at each. All the wine was good, some of it was fantastic - we ended up bringing a few bottles home as well. I definitely recommend Platypus and will use them again when I return to Napa. It's a really great value, especially since you get reduced tasting fees. When we visited a few places on our own the next day, $35-40 a tasting was the norm. With Platypus almost all the tastings are reduced to $15. When you factor in the transportation and the lunch, you really can't beat it.

My wife and I have done two Napa Valley wine tours with Platypus and they are amazing! They find small, off-the-beaten path wineries that make fantastic wine, some of which (St. Claire Brown, Hopper Creek, Dutch Henry, Auburn James, to name a few) have become our favorite spots in Napa! They have great relationships with the wineries, so the tasting fees are reduced, and even waived if you buy some wine. They pick you up and drop you off where you're staying, pass a shared cheese board around the bus, provide a picnic lunch at one of the wineries, help you coordinate getting wine purchases home - they do everything! And the tour guides are great. For our recent tour we had Melissa McLaughlin, and she was excellent! Very knowledgeable about wine and Napa Valley, easy to talk to, and funny. We're already looking forward to our next trip to Napa so we can do another tour with them!
