Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

We are showing awesome (and COVID-safe) wine tours! Vehicles are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer on bus. Per CDC transportation guidelines, we recommend guests wear masks on board the tour shuttle. Safe, but still really fun.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

I took my parents on this trip. We had a great group on our tour with couples from Columbia, Scotland, Russia and the US. Melissa was a very gracious host and tour guide. We went to 4 boutique wineries and were treated very well at each one. Madrigal really stood out. Melissa did an excellent job with her choices of wineries. I would recommend this tour to family and friends.

I should have written this months ago as we went in June but I forgot! I'd spent ages looking for a wine tour and my fiance was skeptical about this one as it was much cheaper than the others we had found and the tasting fees were also way cheaper. He needn't have worried because we had a wonderful day out. I forget who our guide was (I want to say Kelly...?) but she was brilliant. She picked us up third and we were told there was only 1 other couple to collect so it felt like a private tour as it was intimate but it was without the private tour price tag. She took us to 4 vineyards, each different from the last and we had a really great day tasting lots and lots of different wines. Each vineyard providing something new - one was chocolate pairing, another we had a tour of the facility and our favourite one - Razi's - was very private and by appointment only - the only downside to this is that he wouldn't let us tipsy ladies go and play with his dog! The lunch was great and just what we needed to soak up some of the alcohol. If you're thinking of booking, don't hesitate, you'll have a fantastic day. If we go back to Napa we will definitely tour with Platypus again!

When researching wine tours I was unsure how reliable and fun this would be, but it ended up being the BEST choice we made. The day was so much fun, we visited some incredible wineries with unique stories, interactive hosts, and beautiful views. We also LOVED our tour guide James. He was so much fun and so knowledgeable on the area, the wine/wineries, and even on local restaurants for dinner suggestions. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour if you are looking for a fun day exploring Napa.
