Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

We are showing awesome (and COVID-safe) wine tours! Vehicles are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer on bus. Per CDC transportation guidelines, we recommend guests wear masks on board the tour shuttle. Safe, but still really fun.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

We took this tour as it was recommended by our hotel. Communication prior was excellent and we knew what to expect. Picked up on time by Jerri who was an amazing guide. Professional and friendly. The rest of our tour guests were such fun (we could see you could be unlucky if you got difficult guests) and we will all try and stay in touch. The vineyards we visited were all v different and interesting and lunch catered for all tastes. We were the only guests who did not buy wine as we were returning to the UK so happy to pay the tasting fees. I’m unable to drink red wine but with the exception of one vineyard they all made sure I had as good a choice of white/rose as the others did red. Would gladly do another Platypus Tour and thank you Jerri.

The trip was an absolute joy, they took care of lunch, and it was great and fresh! Helped with boxes for the wine we bought, helped make good deals with the wineries, and taught us a ton. It was so much fun!

We started the morning as 6 individual couples from all over the US and by mid-afternoon, we were all the best of friends. We spent the day tasting so many wonderful wines from 4 different boutique vineyards and each experience was unique. We even tasted a special varietal straight out of an oak barrel. As our tour progressed, we continued to have a blast so when our tour ended, the party continued. We all went out to dinner together and continued eating, drinking and laughing into the late evening. Great job Platypus. We will tour with you again.
