Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

We are showing awesome (and COVID-safe) wine tours! Vehicles are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer on bus. Per CDC transportation guidelines, we recommend guests wear masks on board the tour shuttle. Safe, but still really fun.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

First of all our tour guide David was wonderful. His corny jokes did get better as the day went on. Maybe it had a little to do with the wine? Anyway this is a great and safe way to see Napa Valley Wine Country. David offer great insight to both the history and wine producing industry in the valley. We visited 4 wineries in total and had a nice picnic lunch along the journey. They also provided water and snacks which was really appreciated during the day. This was our third visit to Nape and what we liked was the opportunity to visit some smaller less crowded wineries and have someone else do the driving.

My friend recommended I book my Napa wine tour with Platypus and I'm so glad we did! It was a fun all day wine tour (~10am to ~6pm pick up to drop off), including four small/lesser known wineries, shuttle, crackers/cheese, and sandwich lunch. Andy was our tour guide and he was super knowledgeable, unpretentious, and gave us great tips on the area, wine tasting in general, and things to do in Napa Valley. I learned so much! We had to pay our own tasting fees at the wineries, which was $15 per winery, though they would wave the wine tasting fees if we purchased 2+ bottles of wine. There were twelve people on our tour, all of which were adult couples ranging from in their 20's to 50's. We saw wineries all up and down the Napa Valley, from Napa all the way up to Calistoga. The lunch was also better than expected. Overall, I feel this was a great value for your money at $110 per person. I would definitely recommend you book them for your trip to Napa!

We loved our small group wine tasting with Steve Hunter our driver. He gave us some great history and pointed out things along the way all day... he really added to what was already a great experience and made it perfect! We got to visit 4 wineries we would never have ended up at on our own, and getting to see barrel rooms and tank rooms and see the whole process was super cool. Lunch was good too! Would definitely do this tour again someday, the whole day was super fun.
