Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

We had a most wonderful tour with Tour Guide Luis, he is very knowledgeable about the region, vineyards and wineries. It was a small group of about 5 friendly couples. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful time. Ron was a great guide. I really enjoyed going to the smaller wineries. We particularly enjoyed the first and last wineries. As Rob promised, Fred was so fun to get to know. The other people on the tour were fun, and we really had a great time. All of the tasting were between $20-25. They waved a tasting fee for each bottle of wine we bought. We bought wine at a couple of the wineries. We bought the packing box from Platypus Tours and checked it. As promised our wines made it home safely. Checking them was no problem. We were a bit skeptical, but it worked great!

The three wineries, though entirely different, each offered expertise in their business, a passion for sharing their excitement, and a delightful array of wine! The picnic box lunch was delicious and the tour bus was more like a limousine. There were 11 people in our group, a mixture of ages, ethnicities, and reasons for traveling to Napa. Louis, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful—he even gave us a map and routed us for the next day’s sightseeing! We highly recommend Platypus Tours and would certainly tour with them again.

Luis is awesome every time - I really glad you got to experience his tour. Thanks for mentioning the box lunch; we operate our own commercial kitchen and crew, who never seem to get enough credit for the awesome work they do. Glad you loved the tour shuttle, too. I put a lot of thought into how to set those up for the maximum guest enjoyment. We are very much looking forward to seeing you again!
