Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco

Overview
Take a day trip from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park, described as the crown jewel of the country's many splendid national parks. You will be guided on a coach tour to highlights such as Bridalveil Falls, Tunnel View, El Capitan, and Yosemite Falls, with a stop for a 1-mile (1.6-km) walk into a grove of giant sequoias*.

Our vans only take 15 passengers, so we are able to stop at more places with less time for loading and unloading of passengers.

The park is really cool so i'm glad i got to go see it. Our guide opted to not go see the Sequoia trees because if was "snowing". This was highly disappointing because it was literally a light little fall of snow that wasn't sticking and eventually went away. The music in the car wasn't great. The guide insisted on talking the entire way there (i was thinking i'd get a little moment of peace on the 4 hour drive there). The weather wasn't great for seeing everything which is fine (that's all up to mother nature) but I do wish there had been a warning or more detail about the amount of walking and the cold weather because I didn't know what to prepare for. Overall the tour was fine. I recommend going when there is good weather and make sure you don't mind constant talking tied with cheesy anecdotes. Oh...and there's a sign in the van to remind you the "20% is the expected tip amount" and you'll get a huff and a look if you don't give a tip for this already $200 trip. I'll probably just rent a car and drive myself next time but that's more my style anyway.

When you got on the bus, the driver told everybody that the possibility of going to the sequoias was minimal because of the snow in the park. As the driver said, that was your chance to get off the bus (and have a refund). When you arrived at the sequoias, there was a light dusting of snow, it’s true. However the sequoias grow in a valley, where it was far more dangerous for the hike. As far as the tip sign goes, this is not a common practice in other countries. It is there to let them know what the custom is in the United States. It by no is means required, only suggested. The driver that did your tour gets very high reviews so we’re sorry you did not enjoy this presentation, but other people do.
