Explore San Diego's hidden gem of snorkeling! Everyone who visits San Diego knows about La Jolla, but did you know there's an even better snorkeling spot? Avoid the big waves and crowds with this more relaxed snorkel experience geared for all skill levels.

I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our snorkel.

Groups are small (maximum of 5 participants, with occasional exceptions for private groups/families) which makes a more intimate and personal experience.

Loved our adventure with Snorkel Matt! It was the first time our family snorkeled, and I really appreciated his concern for the comfort and safety of everyone in the group. He changed the location for the experience based on the week’s beach hazard warnings and provided guidance on appropriate gear to keep us warm in the chilly bay. He is genuinely concerned about you and took extra time to ensure all in the group were comfortable throughout the session. He has a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife in the bay and was great at sharing it! The experience was a definite highlight of our trip. Appreciate all the photos he took too!

This is hands down the best snorkel experience I’ve been on! The tour started on time. Matt is an expert in his field of knowledge of marine animals including their habits, habitats and their place in the ecosystem. He was very compassionate and took his time with each area of the bay. We saw so many species of the reef! My favorite was the Banded Brittle Star. If you had a question, he had the answer! You need to book this tour! 🐙

This adventure is well worth the money! Matt is a gifted teacher and knew where to take us to find the maximum amount of critters. The snorkeling was in the calm bay which maximized our visibility and allowed us to stop and chat about the things we were seeing. Matt is a wealth of knowledge. He provided us with the photos that he took on his underwater go-pro camera which we will absolutely treasure.
