Overview

This 9 Hour Guided Tour begins with a scenic drive through the Elwha Valley and around Lake Crescent to reach the Sol Duc River Valley. At the Sol Duc, we will enjoy a two mile guided hike to Sol Duc Falls, one of Olympic National Park's most picturesque waterfalls. After exploring the Sol Duc, our guests will wrap up the morning explorations at Lake Crescent, a stunning, glacier-carved lake that is outlined by beautiful mountains. From the historic Lake Crescent Lodge, guests can enjoy time on trail hiking or enjoy the views from the well-positioned lodge. After stopping in Port Angeles, our tour continues with a scenic drive from sea-level to 5,242 feet elevation atop Hurricane Ridge. Upon arrival, our guide will lead a guided hike along the subalpine nature trails to enjoy views of the meadows, peaks, and river valleys of the Olympic Mountains.

Our meet-up location is in Port Angeles, WA, which is the main epicenter for exploring Olympic National Park. Please note that this is about a 3 hour one-way trip from Seattle.

What To Expect

Sol Duc Falls

Our Naturalist Guide will lead a 2 mile roundtrip guided hike to Sol Duc Falls, a beautiful 48 foot waterfall within a forested river canyon in Olympic National Park.

Lake Crescent

After exploring the Sol Duc, we will typically visit Lake Crescent for 1-2 hours to visit the historic Lake Crescent Lodge property, enjoy the lakeside views, and explore its nearby hiking trails.

Hurricane Ridge

We will conclude our explorations by visiting Hurricane Ridge during the afternoon. Our Naturalist Guide will lead a guided hiking tour along various trails from the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center. Guest hike as much or as little as they want for up to 3 miles.

We had a great 1/2 day private hike along Hurricane Ridge. Tommy (the owner) catered to our needs and wishes. He was full of information about the flora and fauna of the area, which was interesting and fun. My 11 year old son really enjoyed seeing a variety of animals and using Tommy's binoculars for viewing. Tommy was patient and very friendly. We were lucky with great weather allowing for fantastic views. Highly recommend!

What a great outing! We had a pleasant drive up into the mountains, and Jessie (driver/guide/awesome person) told us about the areas geography, some history, and answered questions. Then we had a great short hike with amazing views, and saw a black bear with her cubs down in a valley! Olympic Hiking Co was great to work with, I look forward to travelling with them again.

I had a wonderful tour of Hurricane Ridge. The scenery was stunning and the hikes very user frequently but still adventurous. We were hiking on hidden gem trails as their were not many hikers on. Tracy was very knowledgeable and loved the park! My whole family enjoyed it so much!
