Just not for me. It may be that I am just not sophisticated enough to understand this artwork. Remember that art is in the eye of the beholder …. I loved the Met! I loved the fine arts museum in Boston…I love impressionist, old masters, … To me it looked like it was done by amateurs – thrown together – without meaning. Yes, there were people staring at the pieces trying to figure them out. For me I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I will give credit to the building, impressive architecture of the spiral upward to give a home to the presentation of great art. There was just no great art…and the fee of $25 per I felt like I could never get the 1 hour we spent or the money back in my life. Right now, I would trade for that. The one special area of mention was a rather poor collect of the Maplethorpe exhibit. A wing of low-level celeb and himself that did try to have homoerotic expression that may have been shocking in their day, but was just lost on me. Again, please look at all reviews, even the glowing reviews shows artwork that I would suggest make my point. I wish I never went.

The building was very unique as are most Frank Lloyd Wright's structures. I wasn't overly impressed with the art collection. We should have used the time to spend more time at the Museum of Art.

Suggest you take the elevator to the top floor and walk down rather than crawling up. The floors wind round and round several times so if you take it too quickly you might get dizzy. Some stand out exhibits, such as the Bacon triptych; Rothko and a couple of paintings by the Beatle Stewart Sutcliffe.
