My daughter and I joined a small group for a trail ride for an hour up to a beautiful viewing spot. Nikki was a great host, the horses were in great condition and very well behaved and the ranch is in a special location overlooking the Lake. I couldnā€™t recommend this enough - so much so, we have booked to return tomorrow!

The horse back riding was the highlight of my trip to Sonoma/Napa Valley. The owner who took us on the tour had a lot of knowledge on the surrounding area of her Ranch and knew names of trees, bushes, etc. that we passed on the way. The whole experience was fabulous from the horses to the views of Sonoma Lake. I would definitely recommend this ride to anyone who wants to make their vacation something special and different than the norm.

I can not say enough nice stuff about Nikki. I made numerous calls to Nikki asking many questions. Nikki always got back to me in a timely manner and she was always very nice. She answered all my questions in such a positive manner. She never sounded bothered with my calls. This trip was for my best friends 50th birthday. She wanted to go horseback riding so this is what I wanted to set up for her. I have been on a couple of trail rides in the past and I honestly was not impressed. The rides were rushed and pretty boring for me and the horses. This was not the case at the Ranch at Lake Sonoma. We arrived a little early and were greeted by Merle, the dog "Merle the Pearl" and a really nice guy. I think he was Nikki's husband (not sure) They were both super nice. The barn was beautiful and the view was amazing. The water in this lake is turquoise covered by beautiful sail boats. The horses here looked so well cared for. They were clean with heads held high. They were in clean stalls and just seemed so happy On the trail Nikki would tell us about the vegetation, rocks, scenery and history of the land. She was always making sure every rider in our group was safe and having a good time. This was not a rushed trail ride. Nikki took her time and I believe all riders on this trip had a good time. Nikki supplied us with water and gave us a perfect spot to take a water break. The horses were sure footed and were not pushed in any way. Nikki also took lots of great pics with our own cell phones (for free!!!) Yes it true... for free. I really enjoyed this trail ride as did my best friend. I've already told my family and friends about this experience and highly recommend the Ranch of Sonoma Lake. I hope people that read this review take my advise and just book it. Book your ride. You will not be disappointed. Nikki and her husband just seem like genuinely nice people and Merle... He's awesome.
