We did the private horseback riding tour with Nikki on July 4th and had an amazing time. The horses are very well taken care of which is so important. They are so sweet and have such unique personalities. The ride itself was one of the most beautiful rides we have ever done. The views of the landscape are spectacular. We rode through Redwoods on our ride, and we saw the gorgeous lake, beautiful wildlife and various wildflowers and other plant life. Nikki and David are super nice and very knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend The Ranch if you want a fun and safe experience on horseback with friendly horses that are treated well. They also have a great new barn for parties or weddings if that is something your looking to book. We will definitely be back when we return to the area.

My boyfriend and I took a horseback ride here for my birthday weekend and had an incredible time. Their newly renovated barn is beautiful and all the horses are very handsome, gentle, and kind. They really took our experience levels into consideration when assigning us horses, which I especially appreciated, as my boyfriend has no riding experience and I took lessons for three years. You can't beat the views! Our first time in Sonoma, this was a wonderful chance to take in views of the lake and wildlife. We ventured into a redwood grove, chaparral type community, and got a practically 360 view of the mountains/vineyards surrounding the mountain. Our guide was so informative and it was a really wonderful getting to see a family run business in our day and age! She took pictures of us riding with my phone as we went on the trail (no extra fee whatsoever!) and did a superb job. My boyfriend and I came out of the experience with photos (and memories!) we will treasure for a long time to come. Can't wait to come here again soon! Thank you all for such a wonderful time! We loved it! I definitely suggest if you're on the fence due to the drive or any other factor - DO IT. The drive to the ranch was beautiful and an exciting/charming experience in itself. It made a horse lover of my boyfriend and he's already talking about how he can't wait for his next ride! Thanks!

For a super-fun and interesting activity, this is the best way to see Lake Sonoma from up high while learning a bunch about the park. It's so much more than a horseback ride, all of the significant landmarks are pointed out and riders learn about the different trees and wildlife during the ride. They think of everything; horses are well-matched to a rider's experience, water is provided, they make sure you have plenty of photos and the owners are just so NICE. We will definitely do it again soon, we can't wait to see the other rides they offer!
