This was our first time trying to ride Segways. It won't be our last!! After some quick paperwork, we were fitted with helmets and then given some instruction outside. Soon, we were having fun on the training track - and then off onto the back streets for our tour. LOVELY!! Our guide, Karen, knew so much about topography, botany, and history - and her sense of humor was delightful. We are already thinking of which family members and friends would love doing this with us on their next trip out!

We have done other Segway tours in cities but this was the best. Wide open spaces and cowboy Wayne as nature guide. Highly recommend this tour.

My sister and I went on this tour together and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Fort McDowell Indian Reservation is about 23 miles (30 min) from Scottsdale and it's quite easy to find. You'll turn off the main highway onto a dirt road to get to where the segway tour starts. You'll be greeted by the Segway trailer all ready to get you started. The 2 very nice men who led the tours were so kind, informative and patient. They take their time making sure you are well trained on the segway (with helmet!) before taking off on a lovely trek through high desert. Along the way, they share all of the history of the area including the fort, Indians, flora and fauna. There is a short break in the middle before returning. The giant saguaro cactus make for great photos. My sis and I are in our late 50's & early 60s so please know that athletic skill is not required. You do need to be steady on your feet but that's about all. I highly recommend this tour -- you will want to buy a segway of your own when you're done!
