What To Expect

Sandy Feet Sandcastle Services

A qualified instructor will meet you at beach access #16, located at 4400 Gulf Blvd., South Padre Island, Texas. There you will learn a series of techniques for building and carving a better sandcastle. This is hands-on instruction, and in 1 hour you will have a completed (or mostly completed) sand castle, perfect for a family photo op.

Lucinda was incredibly knowledgeable and made this experience so fun for our family. The weather was overcast and windy but we didn’t mind, once you get going you’re so into sculpting that everything else drifts away. It’s really not hard to do either! We were able to build an amazing sand castle in 2 hours with only a short bit of instruction and tips along the way. Lucinda wore a mask when we got close for instruction but the open air made it less of a concern. Although we didn’t experience this, she talked about her partner who used to be a special education teacher who is also bilingual. So if you have kids with special needs this is something you may want to consider doing since he’s so great with kids! 5 stars, would definitely do again!

Oh my goodness, this was such a fun activity! Lucinda was just great; it's obvious that she enjoys what she does as well as inspiring & teaching others to build sand castles! It was easy to book a sand castle experience (she has several from which to choose) on her site: sandyfeet.com. She was in contact with us within a day. Lucinda was right on time and had picked out a place on the beach that was far enough away from the tide line. She explained her process as she taught. She worked right along with us & never took over the creation. She was a joy to talk with and learn her story & how she got started in sandcastling. The paying process online was easy, too. Afterwards, she even sent us a number of photos that she had taken during our build. You don't have to have a kid with you to enjoy building a sand castle! I would highly recommend building a sand castle with sandyfeet.com for ANYONE - adults, teens, or kids.

We scheduled our lesson on our 41st Wedding Anniversary and it was the most enjoyable experience we had during our recent visit to SPI. I cannot recommend this experience strongly enough. My only regret is that we did not do it 41 years ago!
