I cannot stress this enough: it is worth it to go to the top of the space needle. That place is exceedingly cool and if you have time and money, eat there too. It’s just seriously so cool. Lots of people skip the glass museum and that is terrible because it is also gorgeous and the cafe is kind of posh and perfect on a sunny day. The glass exhibits are unique and beautiful and photograph so well.

We pre booked tickets for 10am opening time. I suggest you start queuing at 9.45am so you will be one of the first up there as it gets busy fairly quickly. There are 2 decks - the upper open air one with some 2 auto photo spots and a video spot where photos will be uploaded to an app. The lower deck has the rotating glass floor. Fantastic views (subject to weather). We booked a combined ticket with Chihuly for better value.

I took my parents on the combo ticket. The Chihuly Garden and Glass is stunning inside and out. It's spacious and easy to get around. It's one of my favourite things to do with friends. My dad and mom were blown away. There is such a variety of displays...almost too much to take in in one visit. This is a great rainy day activity too. Next we went up to the observation tower. The lines can be long but the views at the top are worth it. You can walk aound outside at the top or stay inside and enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal. On a clear day....you can see forever!! Clear days in Seattle can be dicey so you will need to check the weather and make plans accordingly. One more thing...the Gates Foundation is within walking distance and a must see too!!!! Very inspiring.
