Amazing staff, beautiful updated design and a moving glass floor. Only snacks and drinks right now. They are still trying to figure out how to make a restaurant and allow the glass floor to be available to everyone. We enjoyed it. Buy tickets ahead of time on their official site. Visiting Chihuly Glass museum is amazing too. There are food vendors, balloon makers, the Frank Gehry building which is a pop culture museum and the station to get on the monorail. It’s sort of like a little carnival or fair with shaved ice, popcorn and all of the museums and space needle.

I thought this was better than Hancock in Chicago. Easier to see down and all around. Appreciated the rotating deck as well. Can stand on glass panels and look straight down while you rotate. Very interesting sensation. Nice history story of the needle as you walk to the elevators to the top. We got there about 9:30 and no issue with waiting- went straight up. You can take your time on the deck and 2-3 places to get photos which you can email to anyone for free. They have a restaurant up there but don't let that fool you- this is fast food at best.

Space Needle is ok for a view of the city and water, however, be prepared for several people stopping in front of you for pics, rude ppl talking over the guides in the elevator, and too crowded conditions. Chihuly, however, is NOT to be missed. The use of lightning with extraordinary glassworks, garden and flowers combined with just the right glasswork, music outside, a classy cafe, glass blowing demo, complimentary photographer, films, and great giftshop, and you have a winner. My favorite activity in Seattle, hands down.
