St. Augustine Ghost Tour: A Ghostly Encounter

Overview
This is a 90-minute, unscripted walking tour that will take guests deep into St. Augustine’s darker history. Professionally licensed guides share stories passed from one generation to the next about the oldest city’s strange and difficult past. Tours are multi-generational, family friendly and pet friendly. Although guests with mobility limitations will also enjoy the tour, there are some steeets that may present a problem for certain wheelchairs/motorized wheelchairs.

Tours include some history and a lot of mystery. Guides will also provide instructions on how to use ghost hunting tools (which can be rented for $5). Guests are allowed and encouraged to bring along their own ghost hunting tools as well.

After a ghost tour in New Orleans, none of others will ever hit but this was fine. We actually learned a good amount of history so that was interesting and the best part but as far as it being a ghost tour it is cute for kids. We lucked out being a small group and that was great. My only real issue is that St. Augustine was founded by Catholics and so there is obviously a lot of Catholic history and the tour guide knew nothing about Catholicism and said many things incorrectly which kind of ruined things for me. Anyone else might not notice but it was about 4 or 5 “facts” that were wrong and drove me crazy. It started right off the bat with a comment about guardian angels. Unfortunately, after the 3rd incorrect fact, it ruined the “bubble” of the tour for me and I was only following along after that, I couldn’t take the tour guide as an “expert” after this. I wouldn’t go again because of this- its just supposed to be fun but it’s a lot of money for them to not get their facts straight before saying something.

This tour hits some key areas of St. Augustine! The fort, city gates, Tolomato Cemetery & the oldest wooden schoolhouse. Jan was a knowledgeable tour guide, sharing the history of the area & experiences with the paranormal. We saw some “unique” occurrences while on the tour & after as we looked at our pics. All ages welcome, & $30 for more than 90 minutes was money well-spent! Don’t forget to tip your guide! (No, they’re not paying me to write this! Lol.)

The “undertaker “. Was phenomenal. His knowledge, connect and colorful ways of explaining events was great. Even kept it friendly for young guests.
