Stories of Salem: Dark History and Murder Night Tour

Overview
When you hear people talk about Salem, often times the first thing that comes to mind is Witches, and Halloween, and ghosts and spooky fun, but there's so much more lurking in the shadows. Salem is nearly 400 years old and just like all of us, it has a dark side. An underbelly wrought with stories for the ages. Join us for our 90 min evening walking tour as we wander through the shadows and hear stories about pirates and pepper, secrets of the oldest cemetery in Salem, brutal murders, strange legal battles, curses, spiders, torture, and of course a ghost story or two. We invite you to be part of our story and learn why true history is Better Than Fiction. -All tour guides are licensed by the City of Salem and are professional storytellers .

This was a great tour, very interesting with tons of good facts about history, myth, murder, and the Witch Trials. Our tour guide was Jeff Lilly, who was absolutely phenomenal. He was super well-read and well-spoken and made all the history interesting and relatable. He pointed out both historic landmarks and ones used in movies like Hocus Pocus too. Highly recommend this one!

I took this tour with 2 other Salem residents. We all loved Jeffreyā€™s storytelling, grounded in the actual history of Salem. There are lots of superficial and inaccurate tours in Salem. Itā€™s refreshing to listen to a guide who does the research and ensures his stories are as accurate as possible.

I enjoyed the knowledgeable tour guide. My favorite was his talk about the Salem witches. A lot of info that I didnā€™t know already
