Salem is nearly 400 years old and just like all of us, it has a dark side. An underbelly wrought with stories for the ages. Join us for our 90 min evening walking tour as we wander through the shadows and hear stories about pirates and pepper, secrets of the oldest cemetery in Salem, brutal murders, strange legal battles, curses, spiders, torture, and of course a ghost story or two. We invite you to be part of our story and learn why true history is Better Than Fiction. -All tour guides are licensed by the City of Salem and are professional storytellers .

The actors were talented but be aware this is a kids event. It is a great event to take your kid/kids and not so much for adult. The actors did a good time interacting with the kids but not so much the adults. I was expecting something totally different and was disappointed how the adults were not involved at all with the show.

Caroline was fantastic! I highly recommend her for your tour with BTF. While ghost tours can be fun, this tour is truly different from all the others because it focuses on real dark stories of Salem. It included backstories of many iconic establishments around town, gave details about witch trial victims that you wouldn't learn at the museums, and described tales of murder that inspired the works of Hawthorne and Poe. They were very respectful of the witch trial victims and gave great context and insight into Salem at the time. I felt like I learned so many interesting facts that I could wow my friends and family with upon my return, and the best part was that they were all real! So if you're more of a skeptic, a history nerd, or take interest the macabre of everyday life, this is the tour for you!

Jeff our guide was wonderful! He has a great way of storytelling, and was able to answer questions with ease. The tour was fun and dark... and light, and informative. Jeff was very relatable, and an asset to the tour company
