Whether you are a visitor to New York for the first time or a resident curious to know more about one of the world's most famous natural sanctuaries, Garrett's in-depth guide to Central Park is a resource to return to time and again. Chock full of history and insights delivered in a down-to-earth, fun manner, the guide lays the groundwork for friends and family coming to the city to explore the park methodically. It's also an intriguing virtual tour for New Yorkers to enjoy on a rainy day, encouraging even the most seasoned to take notice of attractions often overlooked. I especially appreciated Garrett's commentary on the upper areas of the park ranging from the Reservoir to the Conservatory Garden that are so beautiful and so often missed by tourists. Her description of the wisteria covering the pergola at the edge of the Conservatory Garden was so spot-on I could almost smell the flowers.
