Denali National Park and Preserve

This high-elevation expedition soars above Denali to view the summit at over 20,000 ft. This is a one-of-a-kind tour for adventurous travelers that explores the Alaska Range from a unique, towering perspective. *The Summit tour spends more time at higher altitudes and gives a broad overview of the Alaska Range. *See the glaciers that blanket the slopes of the Alaska Range, and learn about the area's natural history from your plane's expert pilot. *Follow the river systems of Talkeetna across the Susitna Valley into an incredible landscape of icefalls, glaciers and snowy peaks. *Approach one of the expansive glaciers blanketing the slopes of the Alaska Range and touch down on its snowy surface. *Get out of the plane for the opportunity to walk across this massive river of ice, soaking in the rugged beauty of the surrounding mountain scenery before hopping back in the plane to fly back to Talkeetna.

Talkeetna

If you have a weather delay, don't fret! Enjoy the quirky little town that we call home! Time spent in Talkeetna will be hard to forget as you see tourists mingling with mountain climbers, all watching the weather to see when they can hop on a plane and fly up to see Denali. Enjoy the shops and restaurants that line Main Street, stop by the Talkeetna Historical Society Museum to learn about the colorful history of the town, or enjoy one of the many trails that invite you to explore beyond the pavement.

Weather was a factor in being able to take the extended tour to fly over the summit or to land on the glacier. Obviously we were pleased they cared for our safety not to attempt something that would put us in danger. Since our stay was limited we were please with the offer to show us what they could at a significant discount. It truly wasn't a disappointment with what we did see. It is stunning. Well worth the going out of your way to get to Talkeetna. When we landed to my surprise, my Fiancée shed tears of joy about the trip and I received an email with the credit already refunded. We will do this again some day. Great customer service and awesome experience. Thank you for the experience.

Hubby and I debated spending money on this, esp including glacier landing. SOOO GLAD we did!!! we only had 2 nights in Talkeetna so scheduled 11 am 1st day to give us a 2nd day possible reschedule buffer if weather not good. on our drive up to talkeetna they called to tell us 11 am was cancelled, but wondered if we would be open to a 6 pm as they thought weather might open up ... and it did!!! they normally do not stay open that late but they sent out 3 planes at that time. Our pilot was amazing & I was lucky to sit in cockpit on the way out and watch him brilliantly fly it. Ride was smooth and views unforgettable (glaciers, hikers at basecamp and on the mountain, and, of course, Denali and all of it's beauty). Got to see another plane land after us on the glacier, and witnessed small avalance while we were out on the glacier. We have travelled many places and done many adventurous things, but personally this ranked at, if not the top, of things we have done. If you are blessed with the weather to allow this, just do it.

Once in a lifetime! The trip was amazing and we got to see the climber summiting. Landing on Ruth Glacier was like another world. The pilot was really nice and I felt safe in this hands.
