We arrived in Anchorage by train from Denali and it was exceptionally smokey from the willd fires in 2019. Never mind, we decided to see if there was a tour available to explore Anchorage and have it explained to us. We found Russ Reno at the Anchorage Downtown Tourgroup who agreed to take just us two (my wife Jo and I) on a personal tour in his car. It was fantastic. Despite the poor visibility, he showed everything from earthquake damage (some quite recent) to spots to watch whales and where to eat. We even shared lunch together. Altogether, an obsorbing and fun tour which enabled us to continue to explore Anchorage with some inside knowledge. Highly recommended and thank you Russ! Gerry and Jo

Thank you both for spending the day with me. Sometimes I forget this is my job, I truly enjoy spending time with new friends like you and Jo. It never gets old sharing my beautiful home with others -- preferably without the smoke, but even then we can still have an adventure. Cheers, Russ

This was a fantastic tour and a great way to see Anchorage. Russ was very knowledgeable and started our tour on the history of the earthquakes and how they affected the topography of Anchorage. His timing was impeccable as we viewed sunrise over Denali. It happened to be a very clear morning and it was golden. He drove us to many areas of Anchorage that I don't think we would have been able to experience in a hop-on/hop-off all while providing in-depth explanations. He also provided photography lessons along the way. The only thing I can think of to improve upon is, since this is a sunrise tour and we are on the road 1 hour prior to sunrise, it would be nice to have water and snacks on board, though we did make a stop where we could purchase some coffee. Our tour exceeded 4 hours and could have gone longer, but we had another tour we needed to get to.

I truly enjoyed your group. I am in the process of putting more into the tour especially the Sunrise tour -- coffee seems to be the #1 request. Thank you for the feedback and I am glad you enjoyed your adventure. Cheers, Russ

What an INTERESTING tour! The sites were beautiful. The sunrise, Danali, the animals, THE SCENERY! Definitely EXCELLENT, however starting at that early hour, maybe some coffee? or light snacks for on the road? Thanks Russ for a great morning!

Thank you for your review. I really enjoyed spending time with you. Great suggestion on coffee, I have often thought of a way to pack a snack and some hot beverage. I will work on it. Cheers, Russ
