This balloon, when inflated, is 12 stories high - it is the largest in the USA - Captain Randy and his crew are incredibly well trained and made this experience amazing. We all had some apprehension about the trip but as soon as we met the captain and crew and watched the working in sync with one another inflating the balloon and making the tests with the air currents to be sure our flight would be safe to take, ALL doubts disappeared - it was enjoyable from lift-off to our champagne breakfast following our landing - the Hot Air Balloonists prayer - the "gift shop" - all right there in the desert - highly recommend this adventure to all - our trip was on my brother in laws birthday and Captain Randy and crew made it even more special for him ...

This was my first hot air balloon adventure and I was excited and so looking forward to floating high above the ground and seeing interesting sights. Not really knowing what to expect for a 'sunrise' balloon ride, I thought , we would be in the air as the sun was rising. This was my misunderstanding. After arriving at 4:30 for a 4:45 am for check in/departure. after boarding the van, we were late leaving due to 2 very late passengers who came running in around 5am. The van made 4 stops ( more than usual) to various 'test ' locations, releasing a helium balloon up in the air and waiting at least 10 minutes to see how the winds carried the balloon. This was how they determined whether this was a 'good' launching site. This as I said, took 4 attempts. This took total alittle over an hour. When we finally arrived at an 'acceptable' site, the hot air balloon was set up, and inflated, a pretty amazing yet very involved process that required an additional 30-40 minutes or so. Once we launched it was very exciting and Randy our pilot was very pleasant. We didn't rise much above 1,000 feet. ( I was told they will go between 1,000-3,000) and stayed in one main area, near a desert region around.Lake Pleasant. The 'flight itself, only lasted about 30-40 min. and then we descended into the same desert region. Not much to see on the ground from the balloon. After disembarking from the balloon the crew set up a very nice 'breakfast' with champagne, which we enjoyed for about 45 min. My advice is to enjoy the entire experience since the balloon air time is somewhat limited.

I bought this hot air balloon ride for my mother's birthday. It was very expensive and I expected a lot out of it. All passengers were told to be at the meet up point by 4.45 am sharp and if anyone was late it would be their loss. Because some people were late we didn't end up leaving till 5 am anyway. While we saw other hot air balloons in the sky looking at the sunrise, it took the crew three attempts to even find a spot where the wind was OK. This took quite some time. Eventually the crew ended up picking a spot where 5 other hot air balloons were preparing for take-off. We wondered why this couldn't have been considered in advance. 6.40 am was the time we took off in the hot air balloon. We had missed the sunset (which was one of the reasons I chose this activity) and the ride itself was only 40 minutes. It was a beautiful scenery but not quite what we had expected as it wasn't in the sunrise and very quick. When we got down a champagne breakfast was offered. The champagne was good, but the choice of food was odd with eggs, strawberries, cinnamon rolls and even more pastries. The crew was very friendly but the hot air balloon experience itself was honestly disappointing. It felt rushed and unorganized. Having read previous reviews on Yelp about the hot air balloon not getting off in time to see the sunrise, the people organizing this might want to take this into consideration in the future as quite a few people have expressed their opinions!
