Overview

The Sunrise Tour in Monument Valley is one of the greatest natural light show on earth. After a brief introduction with your Navajo guide the group will navigate into the heart of Monument Valley. The guide will determine a perfect place to watch the sunrise near the well known "Totem Pole" Monument. Please bring your camera! because this will be a sunrise you will never want to forget. After the sunrise prepare for an outstanding live performance at the Big Hogan Arch. Fully awaken your spirit with a skilled musician by your side and enjoy the natural amphitheater effect. The tour will then visit a Navajo Hogan where locals will demonstrate the art of Navajo Rug weaving. The tour will continue stopping at some of the most iconic places like John Ford's point, Three Sisters, Mitten View and much more! Watch each mesa, butte, and spire glow before your eyes on this unforgettable sunrise tour.

We had the most incredible time on the Sunrise tour. It was worth every cent and was honestly a highlight of the trip! Our tour guide Leslie was a wonderful host and we learnt so much about the area and the cultural traditions . Will be recommending this tour to everyone! Thank you for an amazing time!

We took a sunrise tour of Monument Valley and what an unforgettable experience. Watching the sunrise above the iconic rock formations was truly wonderful. As the sun comes up the colours of the landscape changes which was beautiful to behold. Our guide was Tony, who took us to the best locations to get great photos & talked about the meaning and history of the place in Navajo culture. I shall not forget reclining on the rock looking up at the natural oculus- the 'eye of the eagle', which reminded me of the Pantheon in Rome. I saw a magnificent chestnut wild horse standing on a ridge as dawn was breaking in the valley. Wonderful. We started out in the dark and as Tony headed off into the brush at our first stop I wished I had a torch as the ground is uneven. So glad we did this tour.

We took the Sunrise Tour of Monument Valley this morning with Larry Team as our guide. The morning was special to be sure as it snowed overnight. Larry picked us up promptly at 6:45 am and it was sooooo cold. Larry could not have been nicer and such a wonderful story teller. He willingly shared stories about his Navajo ancestry, stories his grandfather passed down from father to son and it was just a very special morning. We’ve spent the last 10 days in the Southwest and would say that Monument Valley has been really special among so many special places. Wishing Larry Team the very best and many thanks for your openness and willingness to share.
