Sunset Bioluminescence Tour

Overview
Sunset is a magical time on the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. There is movement everywhere. Dolphins are rounding up their dinner, manatees are moving into the shallows to find a comfortable spot to spend the night. As the light fades and the sky ignites with dynamics color, “Mullethead Island,” a federally protected rookery, buzzes with activity as many of the refuge’s 358 unique bird species flock above you to their protected nests for the night. Typical species to expect include Ibis, herons, egrets, pelicans, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills, all set to the backdrop of rocket launch pads and iconic NASA landscape. Launch into your escape.

Me and my three boys went ages 13-18. We had an amazing time Sunnie our tour guide was wonder and full of knowledge. Saw manatees dolphins birds and the bioluminescence was a must see. Did the mondo combo tour. Great job guys!!

The bioluminescence was breathtaking. It was everything I wanted. Brandy and Ari were our guides and they were excellent. They were knowledgeable, patient, and really tried to help you along. We were a group of 6 that included a young child, teens, adults, and a senior. So I think it's an excellent activity for family. I will definitely be coming back and specifically asking for them.

This was not a bad weather cancellation. I'm ok with a minimum guest number for the tour to go ahead but honestly guys, cancelling 40 minutes out is NOT COOL especially when your location is miles from anywhere. I had travelled nearly 2 hours from Orlando by uber and was almost arriving when my cell rang telling me they'd need to cancel or reschedule me to another day. Any honourable company would have swallowed their rulebook and would have delivered rather than cancel at such a late stage. They said I could maybe book with another company... so I waited 2 hours on the shore and did a 90 minute tour instead of the 3 hour one I'd hoped for. (Given a choice I would not have travelled 4 hours by car for a 90 minute tour)
