Take a small-group guided dolphin kayak tour along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay at sunset to combine gorgeous visuals with epic dolphin experiences. Little or no experience is necessary to use our sturdy sit-on-top kayaks to explore the coastal waters of Virginia Beach and get closer to wild dolphins than you have ever been before. Guides will help you launch and navigate along the coast for 2-hrs while you relax and enjoy a magnificent view of the sun setting over the Bay.

What To Expect

First Landing State Park

Meet your guides on the beach at the Main Entrance to First Landing State Park ready for one of Virginia Beach's most unique experiences. After a short briefing on safety and kayak operation, your guides will help launch you and your kayak into the Chesapeake Bay where you will enjoy the thrill of kayaking with Atlantic Bottle nose Dolphins off the Shoreline of Virginia Beach while also witnessing a magnificent sunset.

Cape Henry Lighthouse

Since 1996, We have been offering guided kayak dolphin watching trips to see these amazing creatures during their summer migration off the coast of Virginia. The Sunset Tour combines dolphin watching with a sightseeing tour of landmarks such as The Cape Henry Lighthouses and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. On our Sunset Dolphin Kayak Tour you will likely see dolphins and numerous birds as we paddle along historic Cape Henry in Virginia Beach. Along the way you will also see local landmarks such as the Cape Henry Lighthouses and Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel get lit up by the evening sun as it sinks beyond the horizon of the Bay.

We were a bit late but one of the guides Paul, stayed behind to help us catch up. My girlfriend and I had a great time. Dolphins were everywhere! It was my first time kayaking and my gf's 3rd or 4th time and the first time either of us were in a two-person kayak. Paul helped us learn the ropes quickly. Overall had a great time! Paul and the other guides were also able to provide local resturant and bar recommendations! We had a great time at Waterman's after thanks to them! I can't recommend them enough!

We went on a gorgeous sunset dolphin tour with Brantley and Will as our guides. It was magical, mystical, beautiful and the experience of a lifetime for a wildlife and animal lover. The dolphins took your breath away! Brantley and Will were very knowledgeable about kayaking and the wildlife we encountered, as well as very friendly, kind and thoughtful. They truly tried to give us the best experience possible! We saw many dolphins on all sides of us, and relatively close at times. Our guides knew their habits and behaviors, and were able to take us to the areas where we could have the best views of them. We also were able to see pelicans and small stingrays. Brantley and Will enhanced these encounters by educating us about the animals. It was very interesting and exciting! We kayaked at a comfortable pace, accommodating everyone, which also included some rest breaks during educational talks. It was truly a wonderful experience and the dream of a lifetime!

Amazing experience, can’t wait to go again! We saw a school of string rays and countless dolphins. Incredibly beautiful! Our guides Matt and Will were amazing, kind, knowledgeable and looked out for everyone in the group. I had never kayaked before which was no problem at all. Highly recommend this adventure!
