Take a small-group guided dolphin kayak tour along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay at sunset to combine gorgeous visuals with epic dolphin experiences. Little or no experience is necessary to use our sturdy sit-on-top kayaks to explore the coastal waters of Virginia Beach and get closer to wild dolphins than you have ever been before. Guides will help you launch and navigate along the coast for 2-hrs while you relax and enjoy a magnificent view of the sun setting over the Bay.

What To Expect

First Landing State Park

Meet your guides on the beach at the Main Entrance to First Landing State Park ready for one of Virginia Beach's most unique experiences. After a short briefing on safety and kayak operation, your guides will help launch you and your kayak into the Chesapeake Bay where you will enjoy the thrill of kayaking with Atlantic Bottle nose Dolphins off the Shoreline of Virginia Beach while also witnessing a magnificent sunset.

Cape Henry Lighthouse

Since 1996, We have been offering guided kayak dolphin watching trips to see these amazing creatures during their summer migration off the coast of Virginia. The Sunset Tour combines dolphin watching with a sightseeing tour of landmarks such as The Cape Henry Lighthouses and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. On our Sunset Dolphin Kayak Tour you will likely see dolphins and numerous birds as we paddle along historic Cape Henry in Virginia Beach. Along the way you will also see local landmarks such as the Cape Henry Lighthouses and Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel get lit up by the evening sun as it sinks beyond the horizon of the Bay.

My family had a wonderful time on this excursion! We went out with guides Connor and Justin and saw so many dolphins! Our group was 21 people and 4 guides so they split us into two smaller groups which was appreciated. It definitely was hard work paddling against the current coming in, so be wary of that if you are easily fatigued. But, it was definitely worth it to see all the dolphins we got to see! My bottom half got quite wet so I recommend picking clothes with that in mind. I kept my phone in my shirt pocket, which didn’t get wet, so I was able to get pictures and videos to remember the trip by. Highly recommend this trip and I may even do it again!

Such an awesome experience! Both the guides, Matt and Matt (ha) were knowledgeable and easy going. They made it a point to talk to everyone once we were out on the water. The kayaking itself was awesome, we weren’t able to have a full tour due to a storm that moved in pretty fast, but the way in with the storm at our backs and the waves pushing us towards shore was just the adventure my partner and I were looking for ! Highly recommend if you enjoy beautiful sunset views and adventure.

Went on this tour on 07/19 and it was great experience. We went with 9 years old and he liked it. Tour guides are great, they are very friendly, super helpful, and were keeping the tour very entertaining. The views are great and we were able to see dolphins swimming by very closely. Would definitely recommend.
