This was my second trip on the Osprey and my husband's first. Although we enjoy birdwatching, we're not avid birders. We literally went along for the sunset boat ride =) That being said, the captain and naturalist were WONDERFUL!! Both were very friendly, attentive to their passengers, and constantly on the look out for all kinds of shore birds as well as birds of prey. When an unusual bird was spotted they slowed the boat down, giving everyone time to find it, and often shared interesting information about that species. Our favorites were the common loon, red throated loon, peregrine falcon, and bald eagle.
As an added plus, well-behaved dogs are welcome to join the cruise and, while our golden retriever may not have appreciated the birding opportunities, she certainly appreciated the petting opportunities by anyone who took a break from their binoculars =)
I highly recommend the daytime AND evening cruises. Both are well worth the time and money. We will definitely cruise again with the Osprey's crew the next time we visit Cape May!
