We went to Monument Valley to celebrate our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. We did the sunset tour of Monument Valley and enjoyed the incredible view. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She shared some wonderful stories and history about the rock formations. She also played the flute beautifully and sang a traditional Navajo song while we were on the tour. It is cold during this time of day so make sure to dress comfortably for the weather. Also bring cash to support the locals in the area who make a living doing demonstrations and selling beaded jewelry.

We had an excellent experience taking this tour at Monument valley. Our guide Shandrea was a native of monument valley, so she had a lot of knowledge, She offered us a blanket, did a temperature check and we were off to the valley. She gave us a lot of background on each spot, helped us with family pictures, and even showed me some good photography spots. We especially liked the native songs she sang under the Large natural Hogan. Some tips: 1. The whole trip is on a dirt road. So beware of camera lenses getting dirty. If you are worried about dirt, take a closed vehicle tour. 2. It is very cold and windy in Nov for the sunset tour. Please borrow a blanket from your hotel room. With three layers we were shivering. This tour truck has open sides. So while it allows you good pictures, it is cold!! 3. Bring a few $10 notes to give as tips to the lady in the Hogan showing you rug making. Also, tip your guide generously. 4. If you are unsure where to stay - The View Hotel is a great option.
