Guides are required to wear masks at the shop and rental stand but as soon as tours and lessons begin it is extremely easy to maintain a safe distance and the use of masks will only happen if requested by the client.

My daughter and I took a surfing lesson and had the best time. Our instructor was so nice and the experience as a whole was the best thing we did on our trip to California.

My kids participated in the Santa Barbara Surf Camp and absolutely loved it! They were up and riding waves on their FIRST day of camp. They loved the counselors Griffin, Daniella and Christine. They said they were funny, entertaining and really taught them how to surf. I would recommend the half day camp for locals and visitors.

We had an absolutely wonderful first surf lesson with Elias and Abe. There were four of us (ranging from ages 13 to 30), and nobody had attempted surfing before. None of us had much confidence going in, but our instructors were able to give us incredibly helpful pointers and show us how to stand up on a board. Before we knew it, we were in the water! All of us were able to stand on our first wave for some duration of time, much to our surprise. We had such a fun lesson, and the time passed by so quickly. Elias and Abe were also great sports and were patient (and participated!) when we wanted to take photos.
