The instructor was great and my son very much enjoyed the lesson. Just be aware that rash guard is needed and it’s additional $5 for rental. If you are concern about your feet hitting rocks you will also need to buy the shoes for $25. My son went without shoes and got couple scratches. Also the back of his legs got sunburned because he was laying on the board to paddle a lot. So you may want to spray good amount of sunscreen.

Chris was an awesome teacher. He made the experience more enjoyable and less intimidating by making me feel like I was just hanging out with a long time buddy. Keep up the good work Chris!

Look no further - this is the spot!!! Took my first ever surf lesson here and had a group of 5 - Chris and Paul were amazing instructors and they made sure everyone caught some waves and was able to get up!! Had such a great experience I ended up coming back later in the week for another lesson, this time was just with Chris and a smaller group. Same deal - everyone caught waves and Chris made sure everyone was able to stand!! Also recommend this one because still within walking distance in downtown Waikiki but it’s a little further down so the beach they launch from is way less crowded than the surf huts by the Duke statue. 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a lesson in Waikiki!!
