Our small group wine tours allow for our guests to have a more one on one experience while exploring the Hill Country wine region (Texas' best kept secret!). Our knowledgeable tour guides are able to provide not only history and insight to the local area, but also thoroughly educate guests on the wine making and wine tasting process. Our tours have no minimum, and are guaranteed to be conducted no matter how small the reservation may be; rain or shine, and our tour group size will never exceed 8 guests.

This tour visits two (2) area Wineries and allows for guests to visit the town of Fredericksburg for 90min. Enjoy the scenic drive from downtown San Antonio as we venture further out into Texas Hill Country.

What To Expect

Sister Creek Vineyards

Guests will arrive to this rustic and historic tasting room and will be guided on a short barrel room tour of the winery. A wine tasting will follow the tour.

Texas Wine Collective

Fredericksburg Visitor Information Center

Guests will spend 90min in the town of Fredericksburg, TX. On their own, guests will have a chance to have lunch, browse shops, or experience additional wine tastings.

We took a last minute trip to San Antonio to celebrate my mom's birthday (beach trip was cancelled last minute due to weather). What prompted us to book Cottonwood was their promise to never cancel a tour due to low attendance. We knew going in that we were the only three currently scheduled... so we felt much better booking with Cottonwood. Two more participants did sign up the next day, so we were a small group of five. Diana was our guide, and she was lovely to work with. We enjoyed a nice visit at Sister Creek and left with nine bottles to bring home! We enjoyed learning about their operation and viewing the production area, as well as talking with one of their employees as he served the yummy tasting! Our next stop was fun, but not quite what we expected. We thought we would be visiting the operations side of two wineries, but the second stop was actually just a tasting room. That was a little disappointing... however, their staff was very knowledgeable about the wines, and their selection was much broader than our first stop... and we enjoyed it as well. Our final stop was Fredericksburg for lunch. We were free to choose where to dine in town... and we originally chose poorly (inedible!). Fortunately, there was just enough time before departure to place a "to go" order across the street from our original choice... and we ended up with a delicious meal from Der Lindenbaum to enjoy "to go"! :-) The true standout for Cottonwood was what happened AFTER the tour had concluded. My mom had accidentally left her camera in the van when we exited, and we did not discover this until the van had already left on another tour the following day. I called Cottonwood to inquire if they had found it, and was cheerfully told that not only had they found it, but they would deliver it to our hotel. Now THAT is great service! I would definitely recommend Cottonwood to family and friends.

Diana could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Such bueatiful country side Sisterville winery was great. Loved Fredericksburg.

Matt was our guide and he was phenomenal! He was very knowledgeable and did a great job getting the group to mesh. There was a bachelorette party of six, two sisters and their cousin celebrating a birthday and my husband and I celebrating our anniversary in the group. We all got along well and had a great time. The wines were all good. I’m not typically a red wine drinker but I enjoyed the wines we tasted. We had about an hour and a half in Fredericksburg to explore on our own. My husband and I ate BBQ and then went to two more places to taste wine before we met back up. Those tastings were additional but we got souvenir wine glasses at both. Fredericksburg was a neat little town and I wish we had more time to visit more tasting places on Main Street. Before we headed back we all paid Matt which made it nice once we got back to our hotel. We did start later than the advertised tour time & there was construction on the interstate but our tour was not cut short as a result. It was added on to the end. So I would recommend some leeway when making plans afterwards. Doing a tour allowed us to really enjoy ourselves and not have to worry about driving. I would highly recommend this company!
