Thought I would write this review to describe what happens in "increment weather" aka it is raining cats and dogs... the luau was moved into the huge ballroom (see photo) and went on as planned. They also called us about 4h prior to the show to tell us and gave us the option to cancel since it is COVID and some have issues with indoors. We are so glad we didn't.
Having been to about 10 Luaus in my lifetime (including Sheraton, Old Lahaina Luau and various other hotel ones I don't even remember), I can honestly say this was the best show I have ever been to. The food was faaaaar better than others (where there are giant tubs of stuff sitting in heating lamps -- think upscale cafeteria food) vs this one where it is brought out "family style" but is all you can eat. The pork especially was so delicious. The tuna poke also super fresh. Desserts were spot on. Open bar went on for 3 hours. The show really started around 6:15 officially (although there was entertainment from around 5:30 on), and went till 8pm. The hostess was amazing, sweet and interesting to listen to. She gave a lovely history of the islands. The dancers (4 men and 4 women) were probably the best I have seen, and I am picky having a professional dancer for a daughter. They also had a costume change for EVERY single number. That's a lot! The show moved quickly and was never dull. The fire dancing at the end happened outside so we were so happy they didn't cancel that despite the rain.
In sum, yes this is pricy but honestly, if you go to one luau in your life, this is definitely the one to see. It will set the bar very high for return visits! A+++ to the friendly staff, our waiter, and the lady on the phone who patiently answered my questions about disabled access for my mom (yes there are stairs when the show is outside BUT there are elevators to take too... so no issues).
