Overview

When it comes to Colorado whitewater, hardly anyone knows about the San Miguel River. Which is kind of a surprise! Given how much fun it is, on top of being in proximity to bougie and beloved Telluride.

The rafting section is gorgeously scenic, exciting for all experience levels, and pretty much a must if you want to spend the afternoon like a local. Its red sandstone canyon juxtaposed by flourishing pine forests make for a picturesque setting to recreate on this Rocky Mountain river.

Anyone who loves the outdoors will have an absolute hoot on this tour, whether it’s your first or hundredth time rafting. Just ask our guides, most— if not all!— will agree that the San Miguel is their favorite river to run.

Wetsuits are often required until July, and recommended all season (rentals available for $15)

My partner and I had an absolutely amazing time on our river trip on the San Miguel! Rio was our guide and he was absolutely amazing. He was so kind and knowledgeable about the San Miguel river and all things rafting! He made us feel very comfortable and we had so much fun chatting with him and learning from him. The other guides on our trip were Sky and John. They were also so friendly and helped make our experience so special. It was worth every penny and we highly recommend this to anyone wanting to experience the nature in this area in a fun and exhilarating way. We highly recommend this experience and can't wait until we can take another trip with Rio & this company in the future. *paddle five*

This was a first time for our family & I would have to say it was a smooth & easy process. They send you instructions on where to meet. Also text you the day before to see if you have any other questions or concerns. They gave great instruction on what to do if any bad situation occurred & instructed on paddling. The trip & river itself was great for us my 12 yr old son thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. We all had a great time there was plenty of currents & splashes to make us laugh. We saw a beautiful crane & some other critters which adds to the trip. They also took photos of us at the beginning & while rafting past a bridge. Hannah was our guide & she did an excellent job instructing, guiding & creating a personal conversation along the way. Which makes the experience more enjoyable. We would definitely love to do this trip again!
