We had Dan as our guide and Richard was our driver, both where just great people to travel with. Me and my partner got on board with a group of 15 who were celebrating a 40th birthday so the mood on the bus was great. We were picked up at 9am and returned home at 6.30pm 90 minutes to Lynchburg the first distillery being George dickel and then after lunch which was included we went to Jack’s. Toured to to cementary for a drink with Jack and then a quick look around the Lynchburg town. Couldn’t recommend these guys high enough We had an awesome time !!! All the way from Australia and it was well worth it.

I took the Mint Julep tour to George Dickel and Jack Daniels this last weekend, and had a great time. Tour leaves the Omni hotel at 9am and you arrive back in town around 6pm-6:30pm, so prepare yourself for a full day. We had Richard as our driver/guide who was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Both distilleries had their one unique qualities; George Dickel tour was a bit more informative of the overall whiskey making process, while Jack Daniels facility was much larger and had additional info on the workers and family members involved in the business. I have now taken both of the tours offered, Rising Stars and Legends Tour...and highly recommend both. If you are looking for more of a craft, micro-distillery experience the Rising Stars tour is perfect for you. If you want the big names, book the Legends Tour. Either way you go, you won’t be disappointed!

The tour guide Richard was wonderful. He told many stories to keep me entertained. There were only three of us this tour at the time. Richard dropped us back at our Hotels instead of Downtown. I would book a tour with Mint Julep again when available.
