As to no fault of anyone but our own we saw people getting on a bus so we got on. We had booked a breakfast reservation at a place that said a shuttle would come get us. We spent about 20 mins riding around picking up various people and the driver was giving information about the thing we passed. He was super funny and we were having an absolute blast everyone on the bus was just having a great time.. so next we had got everyone and Damon (the driver) was like ok so now weā€™re gonna head out to the hill country and do the lbj ranch tour we then spoke up and said i think weā€™re on the wrong bus. He made a joke of it and said itā€™s cool you can still hang out with us then asked where was i supposed to go i told him, i also said just let us out here we will call the other shuttle he refused and dropped us off at the breakfast location. We then spent the remainder of the day wishing we just didnā€™t say anything those people were having a blast !!!

Woke up to my wife being sick so she didnā€™t make it on the tour. I alerted our driver Damon to this and he told me ā€œdonā€™t you worry Iā€™m going to take pics and send them to your wife and explain whatā€™s going onā€ which he did every time we stopped. It was so nice and unexpected. Another thing was there was a lady who said she was cold while everyone else was hot so he put the heater on and let her ride up front with him while everyone in the back got a/c. The guy goes above and beyond !

Sunday morning pick up at the Hyatt at the convention center. Jose texted he would be 15 minutes late, nice consideration. A total of 4 of us on a very nice 15 passenger van. Jose was our driver/tour guide. Smart aleck, wise cracking look-at-me guy? No way Jose; courteous, considerate, and respectful. Made for a very pleasant day. If you have any interest in LBJ or learning, this is excellent. Boyhood home in Johnson City, great Park Service visitor center, great LBJ film there. Past the original Johnson family ranch, on to the LBJ ranch now run by the Park Service. The one room school house and the story around that, awesome. The '60s Presidential jet parked there, unbelievably cool. The Park Service Ranger who led us through LBJ and Lady Bird's house, both just excellent. Fredricksburg, neat busy tourist town, then start making our way back. Jose asked, want to check out Luckenback? Not a town, a place on a back road with big old trees, a store with a bar in the back and a neat looking outdoor stage with apparently a non stop stream of Country & Western music players, good ones. Super cool place, lots of people but not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Then back to San Antonio with expectations truly exceeded.
